Rohr awaits Doctor’s last-minute clearance on Etebo, Collins

Super Eagles’ mercurial midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo and dependable left-back Jamilu Collins are doubtful for today’s third-place match of the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations due to minor injuries they coped in the semifinals match against Algeria.

last-minute clearance

The Technical Adviser of the team Gernot Rohr disclosed this to SportingLife.ng in a chat.

According to him, the team Doctors are sweating on the injured players to be available for the match that if won would afford Nigeria to smile home with the bronze medals of the competition.

Etebo has been a major stay in the heart of the Eagles and has put up heartwarming performances for the Nigerian team in the ongoing AFCON. So the Eagles handler would not want him to miss out of the natch now when Nigeria is eager to win the third place to compensate for missing out of the final of the competition.

Rohr also has absolute confidence in Collins as regards manning the left side of the Eagles’ defence. The Germany based player has not disappointed since recovering from injury to play for the Eagles in their last two games. So

Rohr wants the two players to be available for today’s third-place match and he is anxiously awaiting their clearance from the team Doctor.
