Rohr banks on Eagles fitness to beat South Africa

The Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is banking on the fitness of the 23 players at his disposal to beat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Saturday in Johannesburg to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cameron.

The Eagles gaffer is faced with the full compliment of a full squad devoid of injuries and raring to go against the South Africans.

All the department of the team is faced with stiff competition while the players are battling it out among each other to pick the first team shirt for the crucial match against host South Africa.

Rohr is currently faced with the difficulty of picking players since they are all posting good performances in training. He however told Sportinglife.ng that he and his assistants would pick the best team that will make Nigeria proud and get the qualification ticket with a match to spare after the Johannesburg encounter.

“The camp is going on well. We made training this afternoon (Wednesday). All the 23 players are fit. We have four (4) strikers who can replace Odion Ighalo and they are Isaac Success, Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru or Kelechi Iheanacho. I can also tell you that the new players are well integrated in the team. So we are good to go”, Rohr
disclosed to SportingLife.ng before jetting out of Asaba with the players yesterday evening.
