Osimhen
Rohr believed the few minutes Osimhen played in his club’s game at the weekend was good for his steady recovery from the injury. The Eagles Coach needs the striker to be fit and available for the 2021 AFCON qualifying games against Benin Republic in Uyo International Stadium come November 13 and away to Lesotho three days later.
The Eagles Manager also welcomed back his team Captain Ahmed Musa whom he believed will also motivate the team to achieve victory in the two AFCON qualifying games.
“I am happy that Victor Osimhen is back to action for his club and his fitness level has increased since he had that injury scare. I have been monitoring his game.
“I am particularly happy with his club Lille with the way the player is not been rushed to play full 90 minutes’ game duration. You know that Lille has so many matches to play, they are playing Champions League game during the week and weekend league game too. So rushing him to play full 90 minutes won’t be good for him.
“I am also happy that our team Captain is back and even played for his club at the weekend, although he played for few minutes too. He will surely get more minutes to play in their next match. I hope all of our players will come to camp without injury”, Rohr disclosed to SPORTINGLIFE from Ismaili where he is helping the U23 Eagles’ Chief Coach Imama Amapakabo to prepare his team for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations starting in Egypt this Saturday.
