Rohr reveals

The German who is looking forward to a successful campaign with the Eagles ahead of their opening clash against Burundi on June 22.

“There are a lot of strong teams that are part of this competition. We respect them all. However the team l prefer not to face is the Egyptian team,” he said at the team’s pre-match conference on Friday.

The Egyptians who kick off their campaign against Zimbabwe tonight have been tipped as one of the favourites to win the trophy.

Having said that, Rohr said his major focus was to get the team work as a unit and be psychologically prepared against Burundi.

“Burundi has a very good team. They are unbeaten in the qualifiers. They have good players plying their trade in Europe and South Africa. It will not be easy, but we are Nigeria, we were one of the five teams that represented Africa at the World Cup, so we have the needed experience. From my final 23-man list, 15 were at the World Cup last year, so this experience can help us.”
