Rohr signs new two-and-half year contract

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has reportedly extended his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for another two and a half years.

The German renewed his contract on Thursday to put to an end to the delay. He will be with the team till after Qatar 2022 World Cup.

In an interview with Radio France, Rohr said the crop of players in the team made him extend his contract despite the stringent conditions included in the new contract.

The NFF at its meeting last week had mandated the federation’s general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi to sort out all issues pertaining to the contract within a week.

Rohr who accepted a pay cut and also to stay in Nigeria is expected to complete the contract signing in the next coming days.

The former Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Gabon national teams handler took over the reigns of the Eagles in August 2016 and returned the team to AFCON championship after the team missed back-to-back 2015 and 2017 editions of the competition.
