Rohr submits Eagles’ 26-man squad ahead AFCON camping

There are strong indications that Nigeria’s provisional squad list for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations slated to begin on June 21 in Egypt will be submitted to the chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) today for their perusal and eventual release.

Sportinglife.ng gathered exclusively from those who should know at the Glasshouse in Abuja that Super Eagles chief coach Gernot Rohr completed his tour of players who he hopes to use for the country’s matches beginning with Madagascar with his visit to England over the weekend.

Indeed, Sportinglife.ng’s decent source at the hierarchy of the federation stated that Rohr promised to send the list of 26 players he wants in the team’s camp in Asaba beginning from June 2.

Asked if had any inkling of those Rohr hopes to invite for the assignment, the decent source stated that the coach was talking about Villareal FC of Spain’s star Samuel Chukwueze, John Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi, Troost Ekong, Uzoho and some of the key players who secured the qualification ticket for the country.

Interestingly, Sportinglife.ng revealed exclusively penultimate Wednesday that Leicester City’s tottering striker Kelechi Iheanacho will make the country’s 23-man squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt to help him rediscover his confidence and his professional career in England next season.

Sportinglife.ng gathered further that Super Eagles chief coach Gernot Rohr has been informed that Iheanacho must be included in any list of players he is assembling to camp in Asaba to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations beginning from June 21 to July 19.
