Ronaldo climbing Juventus charts

All-time record for goals might be disputed, but Cristiano Ronaldo is rapidly climbing the list of top Juventus scorers.

CR7 found the net for the 760th time in his career during last night’s 2-0 Supercoppa victory over Napoli.

That includes all goals scored in official matches at senior level, for both club and country.

Some sources cite that as a new all-time record, but the Czech Federation argue Josef Bican actually scored 821 goals rather than 759.

Pele also maintains his record stands at 1,283, but this includes goals scored in friendlies and at youth level.

Even if the all-time record remains a disputed issue, Ronaldo is nonetheless writing Juventus history already.

He has 85 goals in 109 competitive games for the Old Lady, putting him 16th in the club charts behind Pippo Inzaghi’s 89.

In such a short space of time, the Portuguese veteran is already closing on the top 10, which currently stands at 114 goals for Federico Munerati in 249 games.

Turning 36 next month, it’s unlikely Ronaldo will be able to catch up to the Juventus record-holder, as Alessandro Del Piero found the net 290 times in 705 competitive matches for the club.

He is 110 ahead of second-placed Roberto Bettega.
