Ronaldo emerges fifth top goalscorer in football history
Cristiano Ronaldo is now the fifth all-time top scorer in football history, overtaking Germany legend Gerd Muller.
The Portuguese superstar bagged two in Juventus’ win over Parma last night, scoring in his seventh consecutive game for the Bianconeri and reaching a staggering 736 goals in 1028 games at the top level.
He’s now scored one more than Muller managed in his decorated career for club and country and has thus moved into the top five when it comes to goalscorers.
With an impressive goals per game ratio of 0.72, Ronaldo is good value to surpass Hungarian icon Ferenc Puskas on 747, while he might even up ending up moving ahead of Pele’s tally of 767 – unless the Brazilian legend adds some more training ground goals to his numbers.
Romario is in second after scoring 772 across his career, with Czech-Austrian legend Josef Bican leading the way as the most prolific goalscorer of all-time.
