Ronaldo named man of the match against Morocco

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the man of the match against Morocco after heading home the only goal of the game at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

It will be the second accolade for the player in the tournament after the Spain game where he banged a hat-trick .

The 33-year-old striker now has four goals from two matches.

Ronaldo’s 85th goal for Portugal made him Europe’s all-time leading international goalscorer as he broke Hungary legend Ferens Puskas’s 62-year-old record.

Ronaldo also scored all three goals for Portugal in their opening 3-3 draw against Spain and is the early front-runner for the Golden Boot award for most goals at the World Cup.

Reigning European champions Spain will next play Iran in Saransk later in the evening.
