A rape lawsuit filed in the United States against Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has not been dropped, the plaintiff’s lawyer said Wednesday, dismissing a report to the contrary.

“The charges were not dropped,” said Larissa Drohobyczer, attorney for Kathryn Mayorga, who claims she was sexually assaulted by the Portuguese soccer star in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.

Mayorga claimed at the time that the events had happened in a Las Vegas penthouse in 2009, when the player and alleged victim met at a nightclub.

But in 2010 the charges were withdrawn as she accepted a settlement sum of 375,000 dollars.

According to Bloomberg, the latest case has also been withdrawn and the Nevada State Court received documentation last month, though it didn’t state whether or not an agreement had been reached on this occasion.

Cristiano has always denied the events took place as Mayorga stated, thought reports have claimed that the Juventus star ‘bought’ her silence.
