Sportinglife.ng can reveal exclusively that Nigeria’s senior national team’s manager Gernot Rohr may have unwittingly incurred the wrath of his employers, following his recent press statements which have caused the Glasshouse chiefs grey hairs.

Sportinglife.ng scooped that NFF chieftains were miffed that Rohr could inform the media that Super Eagles wasn’t ready for the Mundial, with less than 47 days to Nigeria’s first game against Croatia on June 16.

The NFF chiefs argued that the manager’s statement to the effect that Eagles weren’t ready for the Russia 2018 World Cup could be mis-interpreted to mean that he has given up on the country’s chances of doing well even before the first ball is kicked in Russia.

The NFF chiefs are concerned about certain technical deficiencies in the team which the coach highlighted in some of his recent interviews stressing that such utterances could arm the opposition with facts to hurt the Eagles during matches at the mundial.

Consequently, the federation chiefs hope to inform the manager to be more cautious in his utterences to the media to avoid referrals in the future if the team doesn’t do well at the Mundial.

But the Federation chiefs would not place a shot up order on Rohr since they are impressed with his work in the Eagles since he joined the team two years ago.
