Said targets Iheanacho’s record as Eaglets battle Australia

Hat-trick hero Ibrahim Said will be hoping to equal Kelechi Iheanacho’s four goal record as Golden Eaglets take on Australia later today in the last group match of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World cup in Brazil.

Said ensured hard fighting Ecuadorians did not sing victory song at the expense of the Eaglets with his triple strike that saw Nigeria run away with 3-2 win.

The hat-trick put him in the history books of other junior internationals that have scored three goals in a match in the U-17 world cup where Nigeria has incidentally won more titles than any other country.

While the likes of Kanu Nwankwo, Wilson Oruma, Celestine Babayaro, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chuckwueze, Philip Osondu, Sanni Emmanuel, and Kelechi Nwankali scored goals that put their names on the map in the tournament, Kelechi Iheanacho took his own exploit to the next level in the 2013 edition in UAE where he scored four goals against Mexico.

With Eaglets already qualified for the round of 16 in Brazil some are predicting that the Eaglets who will not be playing under pressure tonight may be using the match to fully enjoy themselves on the pitch even with the possibility of Said going goal crazy again.
