Saka breaks silence on his stunning goal for Arsenal against Chelsea

Bukayo Saka has broken his silence after his superb goal in Arsenal’s win over London rivals Chelsea.

The Gunners ended their run of seven straight league defeats with a 3-1 win over Frank Lampard’s men at the Emirates Stadium and Saka got in on the action.

In the 56th minute, the 19-year-old dribbled to the corner of the box, and from the angle, he dinked the ball over Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy and in off the post.

That goal essentially killed off the game, despite Chelsea scoring late through Tammy Abraham with Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka scoring the first two goals.

But following the goal, questions are being asked over whether Saka actually meant the effort given it was one of those where there is no telling whether it was indeed a shot or a mis-hit cross.

And the youngster has now broken his silence, suggesting he meant it and that he saw Mendy off his line before executing the perfect lob.

Though, it’s not clear whether Saka’s tweet is in jest, so we might be left to wonder for much longer whether it was indeed intended.

Saka wrote on Twitter: “Saw him off his line!” with a winking and eyes emoji.
