Saka , Grealish thrill England fans with super performance

 

England international of Nigerian descent Bukayo Saka was a delight to watch Tuesday night as he combined efficiently with Jack Grealish to hand the Three Lions a well-deserved win over in the last group match of the Euro 2020.

Thrilled England fans did not disappoint as they reacted positively to the fresh energy and direct running Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish brought to the all-important Group D match against Czech Republic.

After what was dubbed unimpressive display in some quarters in the 0-0 draw with Scotland, the Three Lions looked revitalised from the first blast of the whistle against the Czechs at Wembley.

Raheem Sterling gave England the lead after 12 minutes but it was Saka and Grealish who led the England breakaway charge, while Grealish’s looping cross found Sterling in the box to nod in from close range.

Both players who ply their trade with Arsenal and Aston Villa respectively were completely at home  their first starts in senior tournament football as they got the England fans on their feet by putting the Czech Republic players on the back foot.

They helped give England’s attack a new fluency throughout the first half.

For the first time in Euro 2020, England went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead and ultimately finished as group leaders.

Recall that  Saka was called up to the England senior squad for the first time On 1 October 2020, making his debut as one of the starters in a 3–0 victory over Wales.

Having played four times for England, Saka who was originally tipped to play for Nigeria put paid to that permutation. He scored his first senior international goal the Three Lions in a lone goal win over Austria on 2nd June 2021
