Saka named among youngsters with huge transfer value

 

Nigeria born England international Bukayo Saka is among youngsters with mouthwatering transfer value football observatory has revealed.

The Arsenal ace who only recently made senior international debut for the Three Lions,is estimated to be worth £86.3m

CIES Football Observatory conducted a list of players born in the 2000s from the top-flight leagues of England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain with Saka ranked among them even as Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood emerging as costliest talent on home soil valued at £103.8million

The forward, who turned 19 last month, is deemed £8.4m more than Manchester City’s Ferran Torres (£95.4m) and £17.5m more than Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka (£86.3m) who are second and third within the Premier League estimated rankings.

Despite a staggering £103.8m valuation, Greenwood only ranks fifth in the top 100 list overall.

Heading up the highest estimated transfer values is Bayern Munich left back Alphonso Davies with the Canadian’s fee calculated at a whopping £162.5m.

The 20-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on Monday, is a mainstay with the Bayern Munich team and played an integral part in their Treble-winning campaign last season.

The Bundesliga also has second place in the shape of Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund winger is valued at £113.1m – a higher figure than what the German giants requested from Manchester United when they pursued the England international this summer unsuccessfully (£108m).

Sancho’s Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland is fourth on the list with a valuation of £108.3m. The Bundesliga’s dominance is split by LaLiga with Barcelona forward Ansu Fati ranked third at £110.5m.

With Greenwood fifth in this top 100 list, Torres and Sako follow him in sixth and seventh respectively.

CIES’ study includes multiple variables to determine the worth of a player using an algorithm. They include the length of contract remaining, age, international status, career progression, as well as the performances in the different competitions played both for clubs and national teams (minutes, goals, assists, dribbles, passes, etc.)
