Salah turns his sights towards league title

Mohamed Salah is setting his sights on a first Premier League title for Liverpool after they won the UEFA Champions League.

The Egyptian’s second-minute penalty set Liverpool on their way to a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid and made up for the disappointment in the final last season, when Salah went off injured in the defeat by Real Madrid in Kiev.

Salah sees the victory in Madrid as a sign of Liverpool’s progression and next is targeting the Premier League Trophy, to which they were narrowly beaten by Manchester City.

“It’s the start of something,” Salah told reporters after the final. “We will go next season for the Premier League.

“This is the first season we were fighting for the Premier League.

“Last year we were fighting for the Champions’ League, before that the Europa League, so it’s a progression.

“This is the first we have fought for the Premier League and we only lost it by one point. Manchester City won it and it was well deserved, but we will be able to challenge now.”
