Sand Eagles won’t disappoint despite poor preparations—Adamu

Supersand Eagles head coach, Audu Adamu has stated that he is confident that his boys will not disappoint Nigerians in Egypt despite their inadequate preparations for the African Beach Soccer Cup of Nations slated to kick off on Saturday in Cairo.

The Sand Eagles only resumed camping for the competition that serves as qualifiers for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup on Sunday in Lagos and they are expected to leave for Egypt on Wednesday.

Adamu popularly dubbed Ejo stressed that it was not difficult for the players to adjust to his training regimen because they have always been training and that he has no doubt that they will excel in Egypt or at least secure the ticket to the World Cup.

“I want to say that we have done our best to keep the players in the right shape ahead of the Beach Soccer Cup of Nations. I agree that we could have done better with our preparations but it won’t be an excuse because the players have always been preparing on their own,” Adamu told SportingLife.ng.

“We played a friendly game against Badagry Beach Soccer team and we have another on Wednesday morning before finalising on the 12 players that will represent us in Egypt. My players showed that they have the enthusiasm to take the bull by the horn in Egypt.

” I have told the players what to do against Ojo Beach Soccer team tomorrow (today) that they didn’t do in the first friendly game. We are also going to test other players that didn’t play the first game. Abu Azeez and Suleiman Mohammed didn’t play at all and Dami Paul Danjuma was outstanding against Badagry Beach side.”
