Sarah Ogoke-Ejiogu to be inducted into KSU/SPSU Hall Of Fame

Nigeria’s female national basketball team, D’Tigress point and shooting guard, Sarah Ogoke-Ejiogu has been selected as one of the inductees into the Kennesaw State/ Southern Polytechnic State University Athletics Hall of Fame – Class of 2018, SportingLife.ng reports.

Nigeria’s female national basketball team, D’Tigress point and shooting guard, Sarah Ogoke-Ejiogu has been selected as one of the inductees into the Kennesaw State/ Southern Polytechnic State University Athletics Hall of Fame – Class of 2018, SportingLife.ng reports.

The Celta de Vigo Basketball Club of Spain player, who is among the 28 D’Tigress invited for camping in Atlanta, USA by the Nigeria Basketball Federation ahead of the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain in September, shared the news on her Facebook page.

“I want to thank the entire athletics department including former athletic director Matt Griffin who literally supported me through thick and thin. I want to thank the current athletic director, my coaches Laquanda D. Dawkins and Stephon Seraile (who did the same), all my loving teammates, and my coach Kenneth Howell in Houston that spent and spends countless hours days and weeks and years training me to reach my potential as well as supporting me as a friend and helping me manage my career.”

“I am very thankful to the university for embracing me and allowing me to achieve both of my dreams of being a two-time All-American as well as an educated holder of a Biology Bsc. degree. This university and program played a pivotal role in my success as a professional athlete and Olympic player on the way to the World Cup for Nigeria basketball. Thank you, people of Houston. Thank you, people of Sugar Land. Thank you, people of Atlanta and New York City. And thank you people of Nigeria. I will strive to continue to make you all proud.

“I am thankful and honored again. God bless,” the 2017 Afrobasket winner said.

According to the organisers, the Hall of Fame honors former athletes who have demonstrated outstanding on the field achievements for their career. In addition, the Hall also honors individuals, who by their leadership, support, foresight and generosity have helped Kennesaw State achieve its success in the realm of intercollegiate athletics.
