Saturday Quarterly Show: Boxers Thrill Full House In Abeokuta

Exicited boxing fans were treated to punches, jabs and knockouts from amateur boxers in the 8th edition of the Ogun Quarterly Saturday Boxing Show last weekend.
The boxing show, which took place at the Alake Sports Centre, Abeokuta, is part of the Nigerian Boxing Federation South West Zone’s efforts at discovering young talents and the event attracted boxers from boxing clubs throughout the state.
Upcoming female boxer, Gbadamosi Halimat beat Damilola Shodipe from Champion Boxing Club in the 54kg female category in the top fight of the tournament
Other bouts fought saw Kenneth Ameh from De-Shield Boxing Club beat Idowu Segun of 3 Star Boxing Club in the 49kg meale weight category while 3 Star Boxing club’s Oladimeji Ismail beat Ridwan Adisa of Egunla Boxing Club in the 60kg weight category. Kabir Farouk from Red Scorpion Boxing Club record a first round knock-out win over Ultimate Boxing Club’s Taiwo Ogunbowale in the 52kg category while Aduragbemi Patrick from De-shield Boxing Club beat Sunmisola Popoola of Amutan Boxing Club on points in the 51kg female category.
Olude Sodiq from Perry-K Boxing Club lost his 75k kg fight to Champion’s Boxing Club Rasheed Fatai by a first round technical knock-out while Sodiq Popoola from OK Boxing Club beat 3 Star’s Sodiq Oyakojo on points in the 69 kg battle of the Sodiqs.
