Select and Win: Which was your best EPL goal of the weekend?
Football is about winning and losing and sometimes it is about settling for a draw. It is about goal scoring.
Sometimes you see the goals coming and some other times it comes from out of the blues. Sometimes it is breath-taking, coming from what you could consider impossible angles.
Last weekend the English Premiership did not disappoint as it provided some of such commendable goals. Trust Premier league players to entertain with such goals.
Interestingly about 29 goals were scored in two days Saturday and Sunday, with the highest score line being Manchester City’s 4-0 defeat of Brighton and then 3-0 defeat of Burnley by Liverpool and 3-1 defeat of AFC Bournemouth by Leicester City respectively.
However our interest lie on the best five goals scored at the weekend in the EPL. In no particular order the following are in contention for Sportinglife.ng best goal of the week;
- Tammy Abraham’s second goal against Sheffield United (Interestingly he scored a brace in that match that ended 2-2)
- Sadio Mane’s 37th minute goal for Liverpool in the 3-0 defeat of Burnley at the Turf Moor
- Daniel James’s 10th minute goal in Manchester United’s 1-1 away to Southampton.
- Jamie Vardy’s 12th minute goal in Leicester city’s 3-1 victory over visiting Bournemouth and last but the least;
- Alexander Lacazette’s, 45th minute goal, for Arsenal in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday at the Emirates.
