Senegal 0: 1 Algeria: Bounedjah scores fastest goal to give Foxes the lead

Algeria striker, Baghdad Bounedjah has scored the fastest goal of the Africa Cup of Nations which comes to an end tonight.

The striker who plays for Al Sadd in Qatar got on the score sheet in the second minute of action to give Algeria the lead against Senegal underway at the Cairo International Stadium.

His effort was deflected over Senegal goalkeeper, Alfred Gomis by defender, Salif Sane.

Sane is starting tonight’s match as a replacement for suspended Kalidou Koulibaly.

This is the second time both teams are meeting in this competition in Egypt. Algeria won the first match in the group stage by a lone goal.

There have also been second-minute goals in the 1957 edition which saw Egyptian Ad-Diba score against Ethiopia and Nigeria’s Segun Odegbami in the final of the 1980 Nations Cup against Algeria.
