Serie A: Roma set for possible return to training

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca has hinted that the Giallorossi could be ready to return to training ahead of a potential restart to the Serie A season.

Sevilla are set to take on Roma in the Europa League Round of 16, and with the coronavirus seemingly reaching its peak in Italy, questions as to when football can restart are beginning to emerge.

“I’m starting to think about competition again, and it’ll take us three to four weeks of training [to get up to speed],” Fonseca said.

“In the Bundesliga they are training but with restrictions, we have also thought about that, but we can’t think about working with all he players at the moment.

“We have to create groups of six or seven players maximum, we would have to work in a staggered way, and distant from each other. Also have them shower at home or in individual cubicles. It’s not an easy situation.”
