Despite the relegation of Stoke City Club of England, Stoke and Switzerland midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri
has not ruled out joining UEFA Champions League finalist Liverpool.

The talented Switzerland midfielder disclosed this at the mixed zone shortly after his team lost 1-0 to
Sweden at the Saint Petersburg Stadium during the round of 16 at the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup.

The 26-year-old midfielder is being courted by Liverpool, Tottenham Spur and Southampton since he made
it clear that he has no interest in playing in the Championship but would “love to stay in England”.

He cleverly avoided mentioning names of his preferred Premier League club that he would like to play
for, but also did not reject playing for such big clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton when
asked specifically if he would love to team up with Liverpool.

“At the moment I can’t say anything. It doesn’t depend on me alone but I would like to play for some of
the big clubs in England and Europe. I hope to play for these big clubs in England. You cannot rule out
anything in football”, Shaqiri disclosed at the mixed zone in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday.

He is however disappointed about his team’s elimination from the ongoing 2018 World Cup. ” I am
disappointed we are out of this competition. We had a good chance to go through but failed to convert
our chances into goals.

“But I am also proud of the matches we have played so far in this tournament. I hope we can learn from
them and move forward and do well in future”, he disclosed to SportingLife.ng in Russia on Thursday.
