Siasia threatens to sue Nwakaeme over bribery accusations

Bayern Munich star, David Alaba on Saturday came out with damning allegations that coaches of the Golden Eaglets of 2007 denied him of the opportunity to join the Nigerian squad at the 2007 FIFA World Cup in South Korea because he refused to pay bribe.

Reacting to the story, another Nigerian footballer, Dickson Nwakaeme; a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Pahang FA in Malaysia Super League in a comment relating to Alaba’s story alleged that former Super Eagles Coach Samson Siasia also asked him to pay before making the Nigerian team for the 2008 Olympic Football Tournament in Beijing, China.

In his words, ‘the way Siasia ask me to pay for Beijing 2008. So sad. They’re killing our football and talents’.

The former Eagles Coach has now threatened to sue the player for defamation of character while denying ever knowing the said player or asking for bribe before bringing him into the 2008 Olympics team then.

“I don’t know this player from anywhere. The guy is just trying to smear my name. All I have been doing since I got into the U-20 and U-23 is to spend my own money. I have never asked any penny from any player or any one. I don’t know this player to start with. I don’t know him. I can’t remember him coming to my camp.

“If someone has asked money from him from somewhere else that is not my problem. I need to get to the bottom of this. I want to know where this player is. I want to get his telephone number. We need to talk.

“Then I will go to the police for defamation of character. I have worked so hard to get myself to where I am today. I won’t allow any stupid person to destroy my name not from anybody”, Siasia disclosed to SportingLife.ng in Abuja.
