Silva hands his Man of the Match award to Foden after Spurs win

Bernardo Silva has given his Man of the Match Award to Phil Moden after Manchester City’s 1-0 victory against Tottenham in Saturday’s Premier League fixture at the Etihad.

Silva who has been in superb form and a surprise nominee for the PFA Player of the Year award decided to dedicate the award to Foden for scoring the winning goal that has taken City back to the top of the table.

Foden scored the match-winning goal after just five minutes and, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s side looking very dangerous on the counter, City clung onto the victory to earn the crucial three points and take back their revenge.

Silva was deservedly named Man of the Match for his tireless efforts, but in his post match interview he decided to gift his award to Foden, whom he thought was more deserving.

It was a classy gesture from a classy player – and Foden was also very much deserving of the award after becoming City’s third youngest Premier League goalscorer ever.

Guardiola’s side are next in action on Wednesday as they take on bitter rivals Man United at Old Trafford.
