Simy Nwankwo’s departure is inevitable – Crotone’s coach

Crotone head coach Serse Cosmi admitted that the club will find it difficult to hold on to Simy Nwankwo following his incredible run of form for the Serie A outfit.

Nwankwo netted a brace in Crotone’s 4-3 win away at Parma on Saturday to take his tally to 19 in the current season.

The 28-year-old who is the only positive from Crotone’s bad season has been linked with a potential transfer to AC Milan and Lazio in recent weeks.

“He won’t remain in Serie B, because he deserves a different level and could even go abroad,” Cosmi after the victory over Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

“It’s not easy to understand the sheer potential he has without looking at his statistics. He scored 20 in Serie B last season, 19 in Serie A. That’s a huge amount.

“He has the quality and is so calm in front of goal. When he steps up to take a penalty, you just know it’s going in. He will leave Crotone because he deserves a better situation than this.” he said.

Crotone remains rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table with just 18 points from 33 matches.
