SK Ronse 0 – 3 Genk: Onuachu, Odey score

Two Nigerians, Paul Onuachu and Stephen Odey scored a goal each to help Genk thrash SK Ronse 3-0 in a Belgian Cup tournament played at the Orphale Cruckestadion last night.
The Belgian Fourth Division side held their more illustrious opponents to a first half stalemate before the former MFM striker broke deadlock in the 58th minute to score his first goal of the season for the club he joined last summer.
Bryan Heynen doubled the lead for the away side in the 71st minute while Onuachu sealed victory by netting the third goal for Genk in the 82nd minute in a one-sided second half.
Just four days ago, Onuachu was on target for the second week running as his side Genk recorded a 3-1 win over Oostende in a Belgian League game.
Before that strike last Saturday, the lanky Super Eagles’ forward had scored his first goal of the season for Genk in their 2-1 defeat to Sporting Charleroi in a Belgian First Division A clash on September 13
The 25-year-old joined the Smurfs in a deal reportedly worth €6 million from Midtjylland, after a successful Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped Gernot Rohr’s men finish third.
Onuachu made a low-key debut for the club in a 1-1 draw at Club Brugge after coming off the bench for Mbwana Samatta with five minutes left to play.
