Solskjaer’s furious full-time rant over Chelsea website article

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is furious about an article on the Chelsea website after Sunday’s goalless draw with Chelsea.

The Red Devils boss thought his side should have been awarded a penalty during the first half of the match when Callum Hudson-Odoi handled the ball inside the box.

However, despite referee Stuart Atwell looking at the VAR monitor, he refused to give the spot-kick.

As a result, play was allowed to continue, leaving Solskjaer bemused.

And after the 0-0 draw, the Norwegian boss took note of an article on the official Chelsea website, which he believed was influencing referees.

The article in question referenced Harry Maguire’s recent incident where he appeared to elbow Jamal Laselles last weekend without being punished.

“The Man United skipper’s actions will also be under scrutiny again on Sunday after his penalty area tangle with Jamal Lascelles last weekend,” the match preview read.

“In recent Chelsea meetings the Red Devils’ centre-back has survived VAR reviews of a potential penalty foul on Cesar Azpilicueta and violent challenge on Michy Batshuayi that may well have affected the outcome.”

And Solskjaer was left reeling by the article, and claimed it would have influenced the refereeing decisions.

Solskjaer said: “It’s all these outside influences, even the VAR talk here before the game with Harry [Maguire], that’s cheeky when they [Chelsea] put that on their website, that’s influencing referees.

“You can go back and look at the website. You can read it, what they’re saying about all the controversy with Harry Maguire and putting pressure on the referees to give penalties against us.
