Sterling sends message to Man City fans following England’s victory
One of Man City’s players of the season, Raheem Sterling, has wished supporters a happy holidays following England’s penalty shootout victory over Switzerland.
After the Three Lions crashed out of the Nations League in the semi-final to the Netherlands, following some costly mistakes from City defender John Stones, they had to play Switzerland in the third place play-off.
England dominated the game, hitting the woodwork several times and having a winning goal harshly disallowed by VAR once again but the game finished 0-0 after 120 minutes and went to a shootout.
England scored all six of their penalties, including a great strike from Sterling and bizarrely goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, to end the football season on a positive note.
Sterling revealed he’ll now rest after a grueling season in which he played 58 games for club and country.
