Suarez to take Italian passport test

Luis Suarez will have his Italian language test in Barcelona tomorrow, according to reports, as he continues to gear up for his Juventus move.

The Uruguay international needs an Italian passport so as not to take up a non-EU spot in the squad.

He is in a position to get the passport because his wife has Italian ancestors, but first he must pass an Italian language test.

Mundo Deportivo claim that will be taken at the Italian Consulate in Barcelona on Monday.

At the same time, Suarez is also negotiating with Barcelona to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

There is still one year left on the deal, plus an option for another season, so the Blaugrana are eager to get his salary off their books.

The striker is still in training, but has been told by new coach Ronald Koeman that he is not part of the plans for this season.

It’s widely reported Suarez has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, a two-year contract with option for a third, worth €10m net per season.
