SUPER EAGLES 23-MAN SQUAD: Rohr to drop one striker, one midfielder

Super Eagles chief coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that he will drop one striker and one midfielder from the 25 players training in Asaba for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations slated to hold in Egypt from June 21 to
July 19.

Disclosing this to newsmen in Asaba on Thursday morning ahead of Saturday’s international friendly game against the Warriors of Zimbabwe inside the late Stephen Keshi stadium, Rohr said that:’

‘We have also to integrate some young players who have not played so much into the team. Also, there is one striker who played against Egypt, there is a need to find harmony in our football. So, there is a lot of challenges for me and my coaching crew.”

It is difficult for me to send two players out of this wonderful team. It is going to be the most difficult decision for me and my staff. But that is our job and we do it every time with regret.
