Super Eagles forward happy to win second league title

Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis has expressed his happiness at winning the Belgian league with Club Brugge for the second time in his career.

Club Brugge were formally declared champions of the last Friday after the country’s Pro League body decided to bring the season to an end in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dennis was delighted to have played a part in the triumph and he took to his social media handle to celebrate the win.

“Champion of Belgium 🇧🇪 2019/2020, The first time was nice I had to do it twice 🏆 🏆 B L E S S ED ✊🏽” he posted on his social media handle with the trophy,” he said on Twitter.

The club managed by Phillipe Clement’s side were leading the table with 15 points ahead of second-place Gent with one match left in the regular season.

Club Brugge have bow claimed their 16th league title.

The league consists of 26 teams and usually ends after 30 games before the top six enter into a play-off system.

Their points tally is halved, and rounded up, for the play-offs before they face each other again home and away.
