Super Eagles in high spirit ahead Lesotho challenge

 

Super Eagles appeared completely cool and collected as they jetted out Saturday to Maseru ahead of their tie against Crocodiles on Sunday.

The Eagles who were to have traveled on Friday but pushed the trip forward by a day following climatic considerations were oozing of confidence as they boarded Arik Plane to Maseru via Johannesburg.

Arrangements Sportinglife.ng understands, has already been concluded for the team to jet out of Maseru immediately after the match billed for Setsoto Stadium at 5pm.

Lesotho bound for Sunday shiowdwon

Captain of the side Ahmed Musa who admitted that winning over Squirrels last Wednesday did not come easy, predicted that the battle of Maseru will be tougher as the players will not only be battling against a determined side but also against artificial turf which some of the players are not comfortable with and weather conditions associated with playing at high altitude.

The Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia ace and former Leicester City forward however promised that the team will put in 100% effort with a view to leaving Maseru with a good result.

”We are going to play on an artificial pitch, it is not that easy because some of the players are not used to playing on a synthetic pitch, but  we know what everybody expects from us so we are going there to do our best to win,”he enthused.

The Crocodiles also called Likuena forced Leone Stars of Sierra Leone to a 1-1 draw in Freetown in the first match of 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

The result is seen as major boost for the Lesotho side even as their fans have reportedly charged them to build on that promising to turn out in large numbers to support them against three time Nations cup champions, Nigeria.
