Super Eagles striker quits Thessaloniki

Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, has announced his departure from Greek Superleague outfit Aris Thessaloniki on Monday.

 

The experienced goal poacher made the announcement through his social media handle in the early hours on Monday.

In the short statement retrieved by brila.net via his page, Ideye thanked the management of the club and the supporters for how they made him feel at home during his time at the club.

“Thank you @ARIS__FC for giving me the chance to be a part of ARIS family, to all the ARIS fans thanks a lot for making me feel I’m home, God Bless!!🖤💛🙏🏾” he said in a social media post.

Ideye departed the club after failing to reach agreement with the club for a new deal that will extend his stay at the club.

Ideye’s current deal expired June 30th and his now free to join any team of his choice as a free agent.

The 32-year-old 2013 African cup of Nations winner made over 30 appearances for the club and scored 11 goals for them in all competitions.
