Super Eagles target out of England U21 Squad ahead Kosovo, Austria matches

Crystal Palace’s new signing, Eberechi Eze is out of England’s U-21 upcoming international matches against Austria and Kosovo scheduled for September 4 and 5, the English FA confirmed on Wednesday.

Young Lions boss Aidy Boothroyd also confirmed the unavailability of Chelsea’s Reece James.

No reason was given for the exclusion of both players who were initially invited for the qualifiers.

Eze has been on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick visiting the player in London in an attempt to convince him to switch his allegiance.

Eze who at that time was still playing for Nationwide side, Queens Park Rangers however pleaded for time to make up his mind.

A former England U20 international, Eze became cap-tied to his country of birth in November 2019, after playing for nine minutes in a U21 EURO qualifier against Albania.
