Super Falcons determined to qualify for 2022 AWC – Onome Ebi

Super Falcons defence ace Onome Ebi says the Super Falcons of Nigeria are determined to qualify for the 2022 African Women’s Championship.

The Super Falcons will trade tackles with their Ivorian counterparts for a place in the Championship, which also serves as qualifiers for FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Recalled, the Ivorians stopped Super Falcons from qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics Games, and they will be hoping to repeat the performance again.

Chatting with the media, Ebi said they are still nursing the pain of missing out on the Olympics and they will use the disappointment as motivation when they face the Ivorians again.

“I can tell you that we still nurse the pain of missing out of the Tokyo Olympics as a result of the loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the qualifying series.

“This time, we will repay them in their coins. I want to play in the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup, and I know it is the same for my teammates,” the Minsk Belarus defender said.
