Supporters club stranded in Kaliningrad

Sportinglife.ng has gathered that not less than 80 Nigeria supporters are still struggling to leave Kaliningrad in time for the crucial Iceland match.
Almost 72 hours after watching the Eagles’ lose to Croatia in their World Cup opener at Kaliningrad stadium on Saturday some of the fans are left stranded in the City.
Most of the fans had planned to board train from Kaliningrad back to Moscow but could not after owing to the high fare.
Meanwhile, TASS News Agency, citing Adrei citing Andrei Yermak, Kaliningrad’s Minister for Culture and Tourism reported that a flight was provided but the fans could not afford the fare.
One of the stranded fans was quoted saying “They told us flight would be at the lowest possible fare but we are surprise when they say 28,000 Rubles ($442), which is way too expensive.”
“When we got to the train station they gave us the wrong information and they told us we should go to the airport and we can purchase tickets at a discounted rate, but…” a fan said.
“Full support has been given to the Nigerian supporters who despite multiple warnings from FIFA and information alerts from the consulate, were not able to travel from Kaliningrad to Moscow,” Kaliningrad government press services said in a statement.
