Tella stars as Bayer Leverkusen thrash Eintracht Frankfurt 4-1

Nathan Tella opened the scoring as Bayer Leverkusen secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday night. 

Tella found the net in the 26th minute, finishing off an assist from former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The goal was the 25-year-old’s second in the Bundesliga this season. 

Xhaka registered his seventh league assist of the campaign for Die Werkself.

Tella made way for his international teammate Victor Boniface in the 77th minute. 

Nordi Mukiele and Patrick Schick extended Leverkusen’s lead to 3-0 before Hugo Ekitike pulled one back for Frankfurt. However, Aleix Garcia quickly restored the three-goal cushion. 

Leverkusen now sit on 53 points from 24 games, trailing league leaders Bayern Munich by eight points.
