The ‘Eagle’ sorry Gernot Rohr has landed!

I am sure you have not forgotten him so soon despite having a new coach José Peseiro now in charge of Super Eagles of Nigeria.  I am talking about former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.

The likeable German tactician has landed in Benin and has indeed settled in as manager of the Squirrels.  From Eagles to Squirrels you may want to say.

Rohr is one easy going fellow little wonder while he was with Eagles he was a jolly good fellow and blended well with his employers especially his tendency to shy away from talking about whether or not they are owing him or not. But of course out of he abundance of the heart the mouth will speak and towards the end the patched relationship with his employers (NFF)  hit the rocks and everything is now history.

Before you extract that from him it takes time indeed and it has to be with reluctance. So administrators who want everything coded he will not give you any headache. Rohr was in charge for Eagles from 2016 to 2021, played 64 matches won 35, and drew 16 lost 13.

Former Coach of Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso ,and now Benin Republic.

Rohr has already named his squad for AFCON Qualifiers against Amavubi of Rwanda adding four players from the AFCON U20 championship which ends today. Also included was veteran Stéphane Sèssègnon, 38.

The inclusion of the veteran Sèssègnon is to help ginger the younger ones.”Sèssègnon will guide the young players. We still need him and his experience,” enthused Rohr.

You never can say as the qualifiers progresses Rohr may somewhere along the line face his former team Super Eagles and why not. Welcome Mr Rohr and good luck.
