The men in Red set apart by Ballon d’Or nominations
Liverpool may have shown team spirit to emerge from a tough test against Manchester City but they also have an impressive set of individuals.
And that much was clear from the photograph the Premier League leaders uploaded to their social media accounts.
They gathered together their nominees for this year’s edition of the Ballon d’Or for a photograph at their Melwood training base
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum all posed for the snap.
They held framed certificates that showed they were certified shortlisted candidates for the honour.
Alisson showed his usual steady hands as he held two framed certificates, having also been shortlisted for the Yachine Trophy.
That is a new honour designed for goalkeepers — with 10 players worldwide competing for it.
All seven players featured on Sunday as Liverpool overcame City to open up an eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League.
