Thiago Silva reveals target after completing Chelsea move

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Thiago Silva on a one-year contract.

Silva captained PSG to the Champions League final last season, but the French side did not renew his contract. Hence, he was able to look for a new club as a free agent.

Chelsea have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market recently, confirming deals for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech before the window even opened.

They have since strengthened their defence with the additions of Ben Chilwell from Leicester and Malang Sarr, also as a free agent.

Now, they have made taken their backline to the next level by confirming a deal for Silva, who has won 28 honours in his career to date.

The 35-year-old underwent a medical on Thursday, and has now put pen to paper on his contract.

Upon the announcement of his move to Stamford Bridge, Silva said: “I am so happy to be joining Chelsea.

“I am delighted to be a part of Frank Lampard’s exciting squad for next season and I’m here to challenge for honours.
