Thomas Partey knocked out by injury again

Arsenal suffered a blow in the second half of their clash against Aston Villa, with Thomas Partey having to be taken off due to injury.

Partey had to be substituted in the 74th minute, with Willian replacing him.

The midfielder has endured a stop-start season since he joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid.

Earlier in the campaign Partey missed ten games with a hip problem, and he will hope that he doesn’t face another lengthy absence.

Partey had started to establish himself in the Arsenal side, forming a partnership with Granit Xhaka at the base of the midfield.

A key component in Mikel Arteta’s plans, Arsenal will hope for positive news when Partey is assessed.

Arsenal again had to cope without Kieran Tierney against Aston Villa, with the defender continuing to struggle with a leg injury.

The Gunners will, however, have Bernd Leno and David Luiz back from suspension for their next game against Leeds.
