Tobi Amusan wins 100m hurdles in France
To compete at London Diamond League
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan ran a new Personal Best (PB) time and set a new tournament record to win the Women’s 100m hurdles event at the Sotteville Athletics Meet in France on Tuesday.
Amusan, 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, ran a time of 12.49s with a legal wind of +1.9m/s to beat Queen Claye ( 12.63s) and Solenn Compper to second and third place respectively in Sotteville-lès-Rouen and will compete at the Diamond League in London on Saturday.
Amusan’s time is the the 3rd fastest time in the world this year and she also broke the the tournament’s previous record of 12.68s set by Kristy Castlin in 2014.
She broke her previous best time of 12.57s set at the NCAA championships in 2017 and ran the fastest time by an African hurdler in 18 years.
Tobi Amusan ran 12.89s (-0.9m/s) to win the Women’s 100m hurdles at the Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern meet, in Switzerland last week.
