Tomori welcomes former teammate Abraham to Serie A

Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, joked that he ‘can’t stay away from new Roma striker Tammy Abraham, as the former Chelsea teammates will be ‘rivals’ in Serie A.

Tomori already joined the Rossoneri on loan in January and earned a permanent transfer this summer, but Abraham has followed him to Italy for Jose Mourinho’s Roma in a deal worth €40m plus bonuses.

“We can’t stay away from each other,” joked Tomori on Instagram with an image of them together at Chelsea.

“The journey continues brother, I’m so happy for you! The grind doesn’t stop and God will crown your efforts with success.

“But now… we are rivals. Love you bro.”

He concluded with ‘Ci vediamo presto,’ which in Italian means ‘we’ll see each other soon.’

Abraham laughed at the message and gave his response.

“My family! No running away from me. Amen, love you brother. Ciao.”

Together, Abraham and Tomori won two editions of the UEFA Youth League at Chelsea, in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
