Top 10 World Cup Tallest Players:  Simeon Nwankwo named

Italia Serie A and Super Eagles forward Simeon Nwankwo will be among the tallest players at the 2018 FIFA World Cup when it gets underway in Russia on June 14.

In a survey conducted by the football governing body captioned, “Top 10 Players at the World Cup”, Nwankwo who made the Nigeria team at the last minute was in the 10th position with a height of 197cm that is the same with Alex Rodriguez, Koen Casteels and Steven Nzonzi of France.

Croatia’s Lovre Kalinic is the tallest with at a height of 201cm,  Denmark’s Jannik Vestergaard is second, while Federico Fazio of Argentina  and Belgium and Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois are jointly third with a height of 199cm

Meanwhile England and Tottenham forward, Harry Kane has been listed by FIFA as one of the heaviest
players at the World Cup. According to FIFA, Kane  weighs 98kg as against fellow England teammate Jesse Lingard who weighs 60kg.

The heaviest player is Panama defender Roman Torres at 99kg (15.58 stone).

The official squad lists for all 32 nations heading to Russia were revealed on Monday, with the heights
and weights of all 736 participating players given.
