Torino dominated Milan at San Siro – Juric

Ivan Juric believes Torino put in their ‘best performance of the season’ in the 1-0 defeat to Milan and ‘dominated’ at San Siro, but were lacking ‘a bit of madness’ to spark creativity.

It was another disappointing 1-0 defeat for the Granata, who had pushed for the entire second half, clipping the crossbar with Dennis Praet and forcing a save from Antonio Sanabria.

However, the Olivier Giroud tap-in from a flicked corner proved enough for Milan to take all three points.

“The lads dominated for long periods tonight at San Siro. There are limitations and areas where we need to improve, but I know where we started and how this team played last season,” Juric told DAZN.

“Perhaps we lack a little bit of madness at times, that spark to create something. The fact remains that Milan barely had a shot on goal, they scored with the only attempt.

“This was our best overall performance of the season and I hope that luck is more on our side going forward, because we’ve been unlucky a lot lately.”

Toro have made a rather unfortunate habit of suffering narrow defeats in which their failure to convert chances weighed heavily.

“Considering how good our performances have been, we’ve got a shockingly low tally of points. We very rarely got whole matches wrong, it’s the small details that are making the difference.”

Andrea Belotti had his first start tonight almost two months after spraining his ankle, but failed to make an impact.

“There has been too much talk about his contract, let’s leave him be so he can focus for the good of Torino. We have to think as a team and not as individual players. Andrea works so hard, he needs to find his form and I am convinced he’ll get back to doing well this season.”
