Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the biggest names in world football but they were shaped into world-class talents by academies and when the annual Under-13 club tournament organised by the Lekki
Junior strikers academy begin on Saturday, 29, 2019 it will be set out to discover players with potentials to achieve the incredible.
The venue for this remarkable event is Funturf, Admiralty way, Lekki Phase 1 by 8am. The tournament will feature eight clubs and football academies across Lagos State.
Speaking about the initiative, founder of Lekki Junior strikers FC, Raliat Abdulsalam said: ‘The Under-13 club tournament is an avenue for us to discover talents and give these kids the opportunity of pushing for
their goals in life.
‘I have been involved with kids all my life and it’s just my little way of giving back to society. Although it hasn’t been easy we have muscled on so far and call on cooperate bodies to key into what we are trying to achieve with these kids.
‘We appreciate parents for allowing their kids experience what we are doing and we hope to go bigger with each event. The Messi’s and Ronaldo’s of today were helped through a support system and beyond being superstars – they are breadwinners for their families and that is our aim for these children. The last edition of the Under-13 club tournament was won by Real Planet FC, Lekki Junior finished second while VGC Pora came third.
