Transfer window: Juve kick against permanent deal for Morata

Juventus have reportedly opted against signing Alvaro Morata on a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard has spent the last two years in Turin after joining the Old Lady on a two-season loan deal.

However, according to Marca, Morata’s second spell at Juventus is set to come to an end, with the Italian giants passing up on the purchase clause that was included in the original loan agreement.

It has been reported that Juventus could pay €35m (£29.7m) for the striker, but the Italian side have informed Atletico Madrid that they will not be pursuing the deal.

Morata will now return to the Wanda Metropolitano at the conclusion of the current campaign, but Atletico Madrid will look for a new destination for the Spanish international, who is not part of Diego Simeone’s future plans.

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on the striker, who has scored 12 goals in 48 appearances for Juventus this season.
