Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has said that it’s now compulsory for the club to make fresh recruitment ahead of next season.
The ex-player speaking to BT Sport, he said: “This window is massive for Manchester United now – the recruitment team, the CEO, the manager.
They need to recruit the right players to take this team that gets to finals but can’t get over the line.

“It needs to be right people and the right characters. We talk about Van Dijk being the catalyst for Liverpool, what had he won before? It is the right characters and the right profile to come in and take you on.”
