Tunisia will favour Eagles–Rohr

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has stated that he expects his players to play with more relaxed minds and focused on getting a positive result against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers slated for today in Uyo and on Tuesday evening in Sfax, Tunisia.

Rohr disclosed that he has charged his players to go all out against Libya today to claim the three available points at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and then put their sights on picking the maximum points in Sfax on Tuesday which is a neutral ground for both teams.

He hinted that even though the venue of the return leg is close to the border that separates Libya from Tunisia, he doesn’t expect much of their supporters to make the trip because of the level of their support won’t be equated with if the game had taken place in Tripoli.

Libya have decided to play against us in Tunisia. Sfax is not far from the Libyan border. The fans can come but I don’t envisage a big crowd for Libya,” Rohr disclosed in a chat.

“It may be perhaps a slight advantage for us and I hope it will enable my players to play with relaxed minds. The Libyans are used to playing like that for some years now because of their political situation back home. They have beaten big teams and even drew against Tunisia away in one of their previous matches.”
